Deeper State Keto Decisions
This past week or so I had to make some choices in what I was going to do in my Deeper State Keto journey. You may be thinking, what Deeper State Keto decisions did she have to do? Just follow the program as it’s laid out, silly. I am currently in phase 2 of this program and my current calories are at 1355, of which the goal is not to go below 1300 calories. During most of this course, I’ve had the privilege of talking to someone other than Robert, who knows this course inside and out and he presented me with some options. I needed some options as I am not at my ideal body shape I’m wanting right now. However, I am at my weight I originally set based off of past weights I’ve had.
Choices that I Had
- Continue with the program as it’s laid out.
- Continue with the program as it’s laid out but decrease the calories slower than the spreadsheet gives.
- Go do onboarding (This is where you increase your calories. Some people did this before starting phase 1).
Being 100% Honest and Open with You
To think through my thoughts on what I was going to do, I sent out an email to my new friend with this. I also want to be truly open with you all and I’m going to share my thoughts with you with no edits (other than maybe some grammar stuff).

My Final Thoughts
I could keep going with the program but slow the calories down and finish the program like that. Then if I’m not happy where I am, I can always just keep on working on building muscle (which I plan to do anyway). Thus just doing that would help me lose fat. (Having more muscle burns fat and increases your metabolism.) This will also help shape my body more. During this, I can slowly increase the calories.
What did I Choose?
Any guesses?
I ended up choosing the last option. Next week I’ll cut my calories in half of what the spreadsheet says. Then the week after that I’ll move to phase 3. One thing to note is that if you are doing this program, you can make your calories decrease even slower at the start of phase 2 if you want. In a way I kind of wish I did that. However, if I did do that, I may not have had to make the choice I did yesterday. And I am glad I had to make a choice. I enjoy really thinking about my journey and what needs to be done.
Starting My Journey
At the start of my DSK journey, I didn’t fully know what to expect and how my body was going to respond. I knew it was going to be all positive though. When I picked my goal weight of 130 pounds, I went off of what I remembered from high school. I was happy with what my weight showed, even though at the time, I fully wasn’t. The curse of being a teen and seeing media. I’m still plagued by it. Currently, I’m just under 130 pounds but my body shape is not the same as it was 10+ years ago. (Just an FYI: not because of babies, as I’ve had none.) Back in high school, I worked out and lifted weights, I had more muscle then, compared to where I am now. Therefore my body is different and plus I had a major sugary near my stomach last January of 2017.
